In general, I ship items well-wrapped in bubble wrap and use boxes when necessary in order to ship your items safely. I ship on Saturday mornings as well via USPS, but Fedex doesn't ship items they receive of Saturdays until Monday evening. I try to keep my shipping free, but on the rare occasion you will see the shipping cost added--particularly on bulkier items. I am empathetic toward the fact that paying shipping fees is unpleasing, so I try to build it into the cost of the items themselves. Thus, what you see with my items are shipping+price built in together.
As with all industries, I realize that sometimes a purchase just doesn't work out or something doesn't fit. I offer free returns after 60 days on all of my purchases for that reason.
